Using funding assistance from Land and Water British Columbia, AquaVic™ delivers successfully on Water Shortage Planning Advice.
In 2004, the provincial government and Land and Water British Columbia Inc. produced a handbook “Dealing with Drought.” The government also announced up to $2M in funding to assist local water suppliers with assessing, mitigating and responding to drought conditions.
Eligible water suppliers would receive a minimum contribution of $8,000 and up to $50,000 to help develop and implement drought management and water conservation plans and bylaws.
The AquaVic™ team provided services under this funding program to 12 small water systems throughout BC. We assisted in the initial funding application, and subsequently produced comprehensive drought management reports. Each water system received from AquaVic™ a final report that covered topics related to water supply and demand, water conservation and water shortage management.
